Married Life Survey

I'm so bored...

Take this survey
For the Married

How long have you been married?
234 Days, 22 hours, 42 Minutes and counting ;o)

Is this your first marriage?
Yes and last ;o)

Is it how you imagined it would be?
Better. He is everything I ever wished for in a mate.

What would you change?
About our marriage? Nothing. We are right where we want to be.

Are you married to your soulmate?
Most Definately

What do you argue about the most?
Usually him closing me out by taking work stress out on me, but not telling me why he's upset.

What do you see eye to eye on the most?
We've always been on the same page. Throughout our whole relationship.

Where did you meet your spouse?

Where was your first date?
My foot was broken and I couldn't drive, so he drove to my parent's house and we had dinner together with my mom as chaperone, hehe.

Where were you when you became engaged?
Our apartment. We picked up the rings (because we'd bought all 3) and he waited until we got home to officially propose..nothing romantic because he just isn't. (but I love him anyways)

Did you live together before Marriage?
Um..yes. We dated for less than a month before I moved in with him. He pushed for it actually.

What was your wedding song?
Hmm..we walked down the aisle to the traditional wedding "Here Comes the Bride" and our father/daughter/new husband dance was to "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain. O’Neill Brothers - A Day To Remember Volumes I and II

Who was in your wedding party?
Stacey Smith, Aaron Downs, and Fred Williams was our Honor Attendant

Do you get along with the in-laws?
I get the impression that his dad would have liked me, and Roger thinks so too. His real mother and I had the same birthday, so that was kind-of strange to swallow at first. I don't know much about his step-mother. I really like his grandparents, and his g-pa really likes me. Roger said he's never seen him act the way he does around me. :oD

Whats your view on Children?
Right now..we're being selfish. He doesn't want to share me, and I just don't feel adult enough.

Does your spouse feel the same way?
I think I answered that already..

Are you a 2 peas in a pod or opposites attract couple?
Two Peas in a Pod

Do you go out without your spouse?
I could if I wanted. He doesn't mind, he trusts me totally, and knows that I wouldn't do anything without telling him about it. ;o)

How long are you away from your spouse before you start to miss him/her?
Usually, less than 24 hours. Like he'll go camping with Aaron, or I'll be at my aunt's all day, and I'll be so ready to see him again that evening.

Have you ever compared your spouse to someone you have dated in the past?
Hmm..no, actually..but I do compare him to my dad...he and my dad are so much alike, personality wise, that it's kind-of scarey sometimes. Roger has some major differences, that I am so happy for (like not being afraid to apologize when he's wrong).

Do you trust your Spouse?
Completely

Does your Spouse trust you?
With his heart and soul

How well do you know your spouses favorites?
*laughs* I know him better than he does.

How well does your spouse know your favorites?
He really can't keep up with himself, how could I expect him to even try to keep up with me?

Do you get along with your spouses friends?
I only know of one, and yes. Aaron would give the world to me if I asked him to. I think he's as devoted to me as my husband is.

Does your spouse get along with your friends?
I think so...at least, no one's told me if they didn't like him. But, he's hard not to like. :o)

Did you go on a honeymoon?
Of sorts...we spent the weekend in a hotel room, with me sick as a dog. We had to make a trip to Walmart at 4am to get meds for me because I was so miserable. It was only by the grace of the higher that I even had a voice to do my vows, because I didn't have a voice all that morning, or the rest of the weekend.

Do you watch the same TV shows?
The only actual TV I watch is Dancing with the Stars, and he doesnt' really watch that with me.

Do you agree on Pizza toppings?
Not usually. He like supreme, but I can't eat the peppers. So I usually like meat combos.

Who takes out the trash?
He does.

Who does laundry?
He usually does the washing, but we fold together. I have to fold my clothes, because I can't stand how he folds, hehe.

Who cooks dinner?
I do, but he tries so hard to want to help, he usually ends up irritating me because he's in my way.

Who is the first one to wake up in the morning?
He is. He has to be to work at 6am.

Do you have any traditions?
Hmm...gaming with my family on Saturdays...?

Is there anyone in your spouses family that you cant stand?
I'm very unhappy with his uncle...but if you don't know that story, consult..."Emotional Blows: The Good, and The Bad"

Anyone in your spouses family you adore?
Probably his g-parents. They have been so helpful to us, and so supportive.

Do you know your spouses passwords/pins?
No..well...I do, but I don't. He tried for something, but then misspelled it, so I don't know how it's actually spelled. *shrugs* Why would I need to know that stuff anyways?

Does your spouse know your social security number?
He can't even remember how to spell my name most of the time! :oD

Do you ever nag your spouse?
When he's driving, yes. He speeds, and he's a hesitant driver...drives me batty.

Do you admit wrong doing?
Yes. We usually have an anger point, with me being angry, him forcing me to talk about it (even though I don't like talking when I'm angry, I shut down and shut him out usually), and then we discuss what made me angry or hurt my feelings or even hurt his. If it's his fault, he's not afraid to apologize many times, and if it's mine, I am not afraid to admit I was wrong.

Does your spouse?
Same as above.

How would you grade your sex life?
Hmm...according to the MPAA, intercourse that shows either a fully naked female or a female receiving pleasure, be it orally or otherwise, is not rated. So we're either TVMA, NC17, or X...I'm not sure what they call it these days.

When is the last time you or your spouse bought each other flowers?
I dont' believe I've ever bought him flowers..he's not into that kind of thing..and he only buys me flowers on V-day..because I make him..like I said..not a romantic..:o(

D's Challenge

For the first five people that reply to me and re-post this challenge, I will send you something. It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD, or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome. Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or fewer. The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first five to reply to this, get your address to me (if I don't already have it), AND post this very same thing on YOUR LiveJournal/blog - cause it's fun to give people stuff.

New Shoes and Kitty Pics

I had to get shoes to go with my new outfit for Amanda's Wedding. What do you all think?

They were $23.00 shoes, but they just kept dropping the price on them at Payless. I got them for $8.00 not bad, eh? And Roger picked them, too. ::raises eyebrows:: Good taste? ::grins::

And, I have two Sugar pics to share.

Here she is, sitting next to me before the move:

She used to sit next to me like this almost everyday, to keep me company while I worked.

Here she is, sitting next to me after the move:

Now, she does this, when she's not draped over my arm while I'm trying to use my mouse. Hehehe...makes it difficult to use my mouse properly, and type.

A Repost

About the River Tax vote, happening on October 9th. I whole-heartedly agree with this guy. I urge you first to vote if you live in Tulsa county, it is very important whether you believe one way or the other, and also to do the research if you're unsure about what you're voting for, check out the "no" website (http://www.notulsarivertax.com) or the "yes" website (www.ourriveryes.com) even, I did, and I found even more reasons to vote No.

There are a few points that I would like to emphasize from the repost below:

1) Our roads...I know it's a horn that has been tooted a lot recently, but it's so true. I've driven from Tulsa to Kansas, or even Texas, and you can tell the instant you reach another state. The roads are terrible in Oklahoma, and as soon as you see the little "Welcome to..." sign, you are instantly on a smoother, and safer in my opinion, travel. So what does the "yes" site say in answer to that? I quote, "Fixing our streets is a priority and must be done regardless of the river project. Like streets, river development is an infrastructure project as well. This river project is necessary to the development and progress of our entire community.” Okay, so...they say it *has* to be done regardless? So why isn't it? And why is the development of the river made to sound just as important as the improvement of our roads, streets, and bridges?

2) Tulsa taxes will be one of the highest in the country, if this passes. Do I need to say anymore than that?

3) I just moved from 71st and Riverside. We would drive on Highway 75 from our apartment to Owasso, just about every weekend. If you have never driven that stretch, and don't know what the river smells like, I suggest you take a drive sometime. I will *NOT* miss that smell! It is horrible! And they want to put a pedestrian bridge right in the thick of that smell?? Riiight...

4) "LOW WATER DAMS FINANCED BY VISION 2025 and PRIVATE FUNDS: Didn’t we already vote money for this project?" ~~the answer to that, I found on their site. I quote, "The $5.6 million allocated for two low-water dams in Vision 2025 is not nearly enough to build the dams. A small percentage of those funds were used for engineering studies." Okay, so...we already passed monies to go to some of this project, but, oops! We spent it elsewhere, now we need more! Silly us...What exactly will stop them from using this money elsewhere once again?

A repost from Jason Perry.

There sure seems to be a lot of hype flying around regarding the sales tax for the Arkansas River Beautification tax. I will be personally voting NO the Tulsa River Tax. Here is a list of reasons that you should consider doing the same.

1-ROADS: Our roads are in terrible condition. If we spend our money on this project, how soon will the city come to us and ask for more money to fix the roads? Shouldn’t this be a priority for the city and county?

2-HIGH VIOLENT CRIME RATE: The nation’s crime rate on a whole is rising, but Tulsa’s is almost double the national average.

3-SALES TAX RATE IS ALREADY HIGHER THAN NYC: If this tax increase happens, Tulsa’s sales tax rate will be .6% higher than New York City as one of the highest in the country. I don’t think that will attract too many “Young Professionals” or new employers. **This is the one that REALLY gets to me. If you travel much then you know exactly what I am talking about! We get taxed to so heavily on everything here in Oklahoma. Property, sales, vehicles, on and on... And our state city looks HORRIBLE compared to other cities with far less tax burdens. Why is this? Our city council, commissioners, our mayor and all their private interest buddies. They have proven time and again that they CANNOT be trusted with the funds they are handed.

4-RIVER ODOR: The river smells. To make the river an enjoyable place to spend time (and money) we need to move the waste treatment plant at 61st Street. This could cost taxpayers an additional $500 million.

5-MAINTENANCE COST: Anybody have an answer on how the maintenance will be paid for? I’m guessing it will come from the same fund that fills our swimming pools and potholes.

6-CORPS of ENGINEERS APPROVAL: We don’t even have approval to alter the river from the Corps yet. What happens if we vote to tax ourselves and the Corps of Engineers says “NO!” Do we get our money back?

7-LOW WATER DAMS FINANCED BY VISION 2025 and PRIVATE FUNDS: Didn’t we already vote money for this project?

8-COUNTY GOVERNMENTS SHOULDN’T BE IN SALES TAX BUSINESS: Sales tax is (in most responsible budgeting plans) used by cities to take care of city issues. When counties get in the sales tax business….well…there’s just not enough to go around.

9-7 YEAR PROJECTION FOR TAX REVENUE: Can we as Tulsan’s wait 7 years for the tax revenues to start coming in before we fix our streets? What if the revenues are not as high as expected (ie, Oklahoma Lottery)?

10-TULSA COUNTY ALREADY HAS RIVER DEVELOPMENT: Unfortunately Jenks beat us to it. Have you seen and heard what they are doing and have planned? AND DONE WITH PRIVATE FUNDING!

The dollar is worth less than it has been in years. Now while that helps our economy a lot, it also drives up the cost of everything that is imported and with the cost of oil expected to hit $100 this year. Do you really want another percentage of your income to go to something you MIGHT get to see the benefit from in 20 years down the road? NO!

Why doesn't the city put forth some propositions to give me incentives and subsidies to develop our wonderful Art Deco filled downtown? Not as many kickbacks from private interest, that's why!

How about this little snippet out of the sample ballot.

PROPOSITION

OFFICIAL COUNTY BALLOT
SPECIAL ELECTION
OCTOBER 9, 2007
TULSA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA
“SHALL THE COUNTY OF TULSA,
OKLAHOMA, BY ITS BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, LEVY
AND COLLECT A FOUR-TENTHS
OF ONE PERCENT (4/10%) SALES
TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ARKANSAS RIVER CORRIDOR
DEVELOPMENT WITHIN TULSA
COUNTY, OKLAHOMA, AND/OR
TO BE APPLIED OR PLEDGED
TOWARD THE PAYMENT OF
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON
ANY INDEBTEDNESS, INCLUDING
REFUNDING INDEBTEDNESS,
INCURRED BY OR ON BEHALF OF
TULSA COUNTY FOR SUCH PURPOSE,
SUCH SALES TAX TO COMMENCE
ON JANUARY 1, 2008, AND
CONTINUING THEREAFTER TO
DECEMBER 31, 2014?”
FOR THE PROPOSITION - YES
AGAINST THE PROPOSITION - NO

What do you think the bold words mean?

I think the county commissioners intend to use the sales tax for other projects until the river plan is finally approved by the Corps of Engineers, or if it is not approved, they will keep the money and use it for other projects; all the while depriving our community schools of the needed funding they need to operate, or the cities of the funds they need to fix the roads and put more police on the streets to protect us from violence.

REMEMBER! The vote is next Tuesday. Get out and have your say in how they spend your income.
