Ugh...

I don't know if I've said this before....but, I hate kidney infections!

This is my first one for the year...but I seem to have one at least every other month. I never had one until my first one about two years ago, and now I have them all the time...It's terrible.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

You may want to have your doc check to make sure your bladder is emptying completely when you go to the bathroom. It's quite simple -- you go pee, then they immediately do an ultrasound. If urine sits in your bladder on a regular basis, it fosters frequent infections.

According to my doctor, I keep getting infections because I need to, "stop doing the wild thing." I said, "How'm I supposed to stop doin' that?" To which, he replied, "Well, my wife doesn't seem to have any problem." I wanted to make sure, so I said, "No problems with kidney infections?" Then he said, "No, with not having sex." Hehe, I love Doctor Moneypenny, and that I can talk to him about stuff and he won't automatically assume I have problems because of my weight.

He did go into a more detailed explanation, but apparently, this particular bacteria is caused from having sex. So, it's all Roger's fault. Hehehe..

Well, that had entered my mind as well (that it was sex-related), but who wants to stop having sex? *winks*

Are you peeing before and after? At least make sure to pee after.

I normally do, but sometimes we both just fall asleep. So, we're both going to start making a conscience effort to try and nip these K.I.s in the bud.

I made sure to ask if there was any other way this particular bacteria can occur, and he said the only other biggest occurence is wiping back to front. I *DO NOT* and have not ever done that, I know better. So, it has to be the sex.

As much as I hate K.I.s, I think I'd continue to suffer through them, if that is the only reason I get them.

Well for a short post that had a big impact, because I get more than my share of UTI's and OW! so kidney infections, I don't know but they sound REALLY painful. But then I had to read a lot of make sure you didn't have some sort of condition which make you kidney infection susceptible. And reading your family stuff was like reading my family stuff which was like....."Whew....sigh!" and I didn't know what to say so in the end, back here commenting on the "safe" topic of Kidney infections. Which sound awful - do they put you on Cipro? (Which I call the Nuclear Bomb) or Amoxicillian?

As for the issue of sex, well, don't know you but if you want I can provide a list of ways YOU can have fun time without infection risk, but um, don't know how to help Roger. Not really my specialty.
