::Shudders::

--Okay, so...today makes 9 months with Roger. I call him, because I wanted to go shopping for some things...he doesn't pick up his phone. So I leave a message to call me as soon as he can, only to shop alone, come home to him on the couch, and telling me, "I was going to call you back..." ugh...so now he hasn't spoken a word to me, has been huddled under the blanket on the bed, and now in the shower, and won't tell me what is wrong with him....heh, happy 9 months to you too...He must be having his pms week. Guys have them too you know.

--So...I'm quitting Hobby Lobby. It was a big, tough decision to make, but hours are getting sliced in half or more and fuel costs are way too high to keep up. I'll be working for my mom, and her new self-owned business. I have the opportunity to make twice what I make now, no gas issues, and I'll work from home. So we'll see how that works out.

--My cat keeps pooing on the floor in front of the litter box, and for the life of me I can't explain why, let alone fix it. All I know is, I'm getting tired of cleaning up poo off of the carpet every day up to several times a day. :o(

I'm whiney...

Ugh, men. I swear they're way more moodier than any girls I know.
Have you taken your kitty to the vet to rule out any medical problems?
Besides health issues, the reasons I can think of for a kitty to stop going in the litter box are: the box not being cleaned every day; other kitties being territorial about the box; not *enough* litter boxes for the number of cats; and the kitty not liking the litter you're using (some brands are harder on paws).

He finally started talking to me, told me that I had hurt his feelings, we discussed how things really happened, and how HE had hurt MY feelings and why. I was so mad at him that I started crying, I hate that. He started apologizing profusely, and telling me that he's such an asshole, he doesn't know why he shut me out, and doesn't know why I put up with him. Then we had great make-up sex, hehe.

I've tried cleaning out the litter entirely, putting new litter in, and still poo on the floor. We try to scoop it out every day to every other day, still poo on the floor. I haven't taken her to the vet yet, because I was trying to fix the problem before I spent extra money. I have had suspicions about the litter. I use Tidy Cats scoopable, but they changed their formula to a Tidy Lock system...I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it. I was going to change to a different Tidy Cat and see if it stops.

Yes, boys have PMS too. Like every other week or so.

Sometimes my cat just didn't pay attention and get his ass end in the litter box, but he didn't poo on the floor every day.

Some cats are very sensitive to the tiniest changes, so maybe the new Tidy Cat formula is the cause. How long have you been using the new formula. Maybe your baby will adjust if it hasn't been too long. If it HAS been a while, maybe try another brand.

Are the color and consistency of the poo the same as they were when she was going in the box?

A--Oddly enough, my cat absolutely refuses to use Tidy Cat. I bought some a while back and she wouldn't even dig in it. I think it packs harder, so it's less comfortable to the paws. I use Arm & Hammer, which Persy seems to like. The baking powder makes me a little sneezy when I pour it, but such is life.
And, btw, you really *do* need to draw diagrams for guys sometimes ;-)

Men... Al has some of the worst PMS in the world. Though it has lessened recently. (He knows I'm not much in the mood to deal with it right now) Every week, right before the full moon he would turn into Mr. Cranky Pants. You have my sympathy.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty troubles. We use Tidy Cats small spaces. They seem to like that well enough and it tends to work. Except for with the she devil.

I'd like to thank you girls for your suggestions and concerns about my silly cat. I hope to work this issue out soon. ::hugs::

D--the color and texture and size have been pretty much the same every time. I've been suspecting the litter for a few days now.

E--I've tried other brands...I don't like A&H, special kitty, or scoop away. I just don't like the way they clump. We have 2 large covered boxes, and 2 cats.

S--I was going to try the small spaces or the tidy cat with crystals because I really like the way TC clumps and wish to stick with that brand. I'm just getting sick of the smell in my living room. I'm very thankful, however, that she isn't pooing next to the other litter box....in the bedroom.

Do you use an enzyme-based pet stain cleaner/odor remover when you clean up the poo? If you don't -- GET SOME. Cats and dogs are creatures of habit and have a tendency to go where they smell they have been before and go there again. She could be going in that spot over and over because she smells that she's gone there already.

Has anyone else noticed how most of us have focused in on the one annoying thing that we can actually FIX -- the cat poo?

D--Lol, that's because we know men are generally a lost cause ;-)

In addition to what D said (about the enzyme cleaner) you might also try sprinking cayenne pepper or cat food in those spots. I've heard that helps, but I haven't ever had to try it.

E -- exactly!

L -- I hadn't ever heard of using cayenne for cat messes. I'd always heard of it for chewing problems. The cat food makes sense because they're not going to dirty up what they eat -- same as dogs won't mess where they sleep.

D--I'll let you know if the problem is fixable. LOL! and no, I haven't tried an enzyme-based cleaner that I'm aware of. We shampooed the carpet with a pet odor removing shampoo though...

E--My man's not a lost cause. At least he admits when he's wrong and apologizes. If nothing else about our relationship, we try the hardest on keeping our communication window as open as possible.

L--The cat food thing didn't work. I put one of her bowls right next to where she usually goes, and not only did she still go there, but she ate from that very bowl right after pooing next to it. :o( and no, I hadn't heard of cayenne. I might give it a try after the enzyme cleaner.

I really love the enzyme stuff. I think it gets odor out much better than "odor removing" things.
